The Story Behind the Design
Born from a clinical need.
The Dog Bone Tray grew out of a real problem in Mindy Parsons' practice: children of divorce needed a way to hold two separate worlds at once. A local craftsman built the first prototype, and clients named it themselves — the "dog bone tray" — a name that stuck.
Since then, it has found a home in work with couples, individuals, and families. Two chambers for two realities. A bridge between them for everything in between.
Two worlds, one container
Couples map separate emotional worlds. Children show two homes. Individuals explore polarities — past and present, trauma and recovery, who they are and who they hope to become.
The bridge matters
What clients place in the connecting space is often the most revealing part of the work — resources, obstacles, or a telling emptiness that speaks to the difficulty of moving between two worlds.
Guidebook included
A comprehensive manual walks you through techniques specific to the Dog Bone design — drawing on years of clinical observation. A $35 value, included with every tray.
